ya. sorry. got a little side tracked.
I'll tell ya what we be eating this week.

MONDAY- Perogie Cassarole, sausage, cooked peas  GRANDMA HOERNERS APPLESAUCE
TUESDAY- chicken fajitas
WEDNESDAY- Slow cooked chicken, gourmet potatos  James just came home
with a bag full of TAMALES.
THURSDAY- grilled ham & cheese, GRANDMA HOERNERS APPLESAUCE aaahmazing.
FRIDAY- James birthday- so I am not really sure what is going to happen!
SATURDAY- a night out with some friends to a Japanese Steakhouse/Sushi place.
We have heard much Yumminess about this place, where they cook your food in front of you, so..
we will go!

Whats on your menu this week? anything abnormal, or new you are trying?

ps. we *like* that applesauce. =)

  2. Have you ever tried quinoa? I did, for the first time a few weeks ago, and we loved it. I still have half a bag so I'm gonna' try a new recipe with that.

    I know what perogies are- duh, my roots are in Steinbach and Inman- but what is perogie casserole?

      Perogy cassarole. the next best thing to the actual thing. for people like me who live where the type of perogies I grew up with are unknown. I'll post the recipe!!! ;)

Yes,it was good.My two big boys both approved,both agreed i can make it again!Yes,it was easy!Yes,it is healthy....chicken,good stuff like olive oil,basil,garlic,a ton of grape tomatoes,topped off with lowfat mozzarella.314cal.per serving.I want to try quinoa,too.Perogie casserole??Yummy,but tooooo many calories!m

    1. Ha mum. everything I used was low fat. low fat cottage cheese lowfat sour cream. soooo there ;)

  4. Here's the link for the quinoa, if anyone's feeling adventurous. It kind of tastes like a rice pilaf- really, not too weird, though I love weird- and the texture is neat and sorta' pops in your mouth.

    The only thing I did differently was saute the onion with the quinoa- not so fond of raw onion- and add the garlic with the broth. Most quinoa comes pre-rinsed, but if not, rinse it well to remove the bitter coating.
