{sweet tea)

I love sweet tea. Home made fresh brewed sweet iced tea. My sugar addiction.
{via}
A caffeine kick up in the morning, cold refreshing on a hot day. Any where , any time. Never with out tea bags (including Earl Grey) or sugar. until-

I started this diet thing. This diet! This counting calories. In one 8oz. cup of it there is  70 calories. Or more depending on how sweet I make it...

Then, I found a box of this stuffed way back in a cupboard. (my sister-in-law must have had a vision that someday I would need it, or else she just plum forgot it!!!)

(insert drum roll)

I now can be once again seen sipping my own brew. (with a look of disgust and joy at the same time as I swallow.) Nothing can replace sugar in sweet tea. But at the same time. I am soo delighted to be drinking it again I don't even care about that bitter after taste of artificiality.

What are your sugar weakness'?
How do you deal with it? Or do you deal with it by eating it ?? ;) lol

ps. I have lost 1.4 pounds this last week. I am hoping for a mucho more bettah week coming up!!!

  7. I love sweet tea too, and sugar in my coffee and sugar everywhere.

    But.

    I use (and quite, quite enjoy) Xylitol in my coffee and I use (tolerate) Stevie in my hot tea. I cut sugar down in recipes, replace part of it with honey or Xylitol, and now- honestly- things that wouldn't have tasted sweet enough before 'bout give me a high. ;)

    1. ok first what is Xylitol? I have been cutting down on sugars in piles of recipes too and its amazing no body even notices the difference!! (or else they are too scared to say!! lol)

  8. Umm...Xylitol is a natural sweetener that is extracted from fruits and veggies. It has half the calories of sugar, is good for your teeth, and is safe for diabetics. Don't eat too much too soon or you'll spend the day in the bathroom; you have to start out slow. Here's a link for more info: http://www.xylitol.org/questions-about-xylitol

  10. for a Tupperware pitcher- 7 regular tea bags 1 earl grey. bring to a boil. Put lots of ice in pitcher with 1 1/2 to 2 cups sugar. Pour brew over , stir and fill with cold water... Its something like that, I tweak it up now and again ;)

  11. ok this is great to hear you're on a diet too...nice to know someone else is having to go thru such a traumatizing time:) i started seriously dieting on January 16 2012 and have lost 9 lbs so far.. Talk about self denial!!!! I'm just dreaming of a flat stomach....NO pooch whatsoever. lol. As far as the whole tea thing we drink unsweetened only at our house, thanks to the hubby who doesn't CARE for sweet tea. @ first i couldn't fathom someone actually not liking sweet tea but whatever:)
