{Compliment}
As you know James and I started doing two evening shifts a week at the bakery I was working at...
I am waitressing ( and loving it!!!) And James is being barista.
Last night while taking his break I was serving him.
Little did I know someone was watching!
A lady at one of my tables as well.
She made a comment to him when he left. And James said something like, well she is my wife! ( grin)
I was standing there than and she looked at me and said.
"I could tell you two were married/in love by the way you looked at him."
It just made me feel so good because I guarantee if she would have seen me in IKEA the other day while we were trying to buy stuff for the house she may or may not have thought differently. Eeek!!!
A very proper reminder for me that people notice little things...
Yeah for you!! Love compliments like that! Keep luvn Jimmy! ;)
ReplyDeleteI will;)
DeleteYou made me grin;D... Totally get that "may or may not have thought differently"... A good reminder! I think of that when I'm growling at my kids too:0 Scary!! Glad she saw you were "in love"! What a lovely thing to be...
ReplyDeleteI too am thankful she saw that. And not "IKEA" lol:)
DeleteThat's a wonderful thing to hear. Good for you guys!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lexi:)
Deleteoh that is such a lovely compliment and yes... a great reminder that people notice the small things... Oh help me to not be a grouch... :) love reading ur thots
ReplyDeleteYes me too. to Not be frowning
DeleteI heart whatever it is inside you that makes you honestly post things like this.
ReplyDeleteAnd I was in Ikea too, but so busy grouching about our purchases that I didn't notice you two. (figuratively speaking, of course)
Lol. Thank you:)
DeleteI would guess that the way you talked to James in the bakery is 'the way you talk to James', nothing 'put on' but because you love him! I also learned something from the lady who gave you the compliment! I would tend to keep quiet but that lady obviously brought joy to the two of you. I need to watch for ways to point out the positive to others whether I know them or not.
ReplyDeleteBUT what happened in Ikea is 'normal' too! That is part of two people working together. (Maybe I am just making excuses for how I speak to the JD Salesman 'in Ikea'! ) Hey, I will never have to worry about that! He hates Ikea! But I do go with him to Canadian Tire ............
Good thought! I need lo remember to pass on a compliment like that now:)
DeleteTwo things. 1~I love your honesty. 2~I love that you told us about the compliment, because we need to share the joys as well as trials! And sometimes we are 'way too modest' about something we do well. You know what I mean?
ReplyDelete1-thank you...♥
Delete2- I have learned that people like to hear the 'honesty' , not the fluffed up, 'act like its all roses' side of me , lol :)
