...a happy day...
This day must be recorded!!!
I have lived here for 2 years 2 months and about 2 days...
This morning, for the very first time,
I got asked to 'go for coffee'.
Ok, some of you are going- so what's the big deal.
Well anybody that lives where I come from knows that the words 'go for coffee' or ' come for coffee' are regular words heard and/or said any where from 1- 8 times during a normal week...
I have surely mentioned, many times how much I miss that- that coffee time. Sometimes coffee, sometimes tea, sometimes pie, sometimes just words... visiting, talking, encouraging; loving... really.
It's not really done here, I don't know why, maybe people are to rushed or may the whole 'lets go for coffee' just isn't up their line... I for certain know it is NOT for the lack of coffee shops around- there is plenty of them...
So today is a happy day. I am basking in the after glow of a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks and time spent with a newish friend...
Happy Saturday.
xo
Yay!!!! I'm glad for you.

ReplyDeleteI know the longing feeling of just wishing that I could 'go for coffee'!It's a rare (capitalize rare) occasion! There's hardly coffee shops around tho either :( Good for u that U've got a friend to go with! Now I realize that maybe the people in this country don't know what that above mentiond phrase means also, as to why it seems they don't hardly know what I mean. Ah... AB thing? :) :) :) ha ha ha..... family type????.
ReplyDeleteJennieee...I totally get this!!! I miss my friends and coffee together...brings me to tears just thinking about it! I did have a neighbor lady that liked having coffee and a chat together but she moved away too....waaaa waaaaa(sounds like poor pitiful me....now I feel better and can smile cause I wrote that...) So now I have coffee and toast by my lonesome...except for the days when it suits someone to chat at the same time as it suits me...
